I've recently found out at one of hacker's forum that VMP was almost defeated.... like inline memory patching techniques, direct PEB usage, hocking on the lowest level of winAPI possible - ZwXXX(), dll injecting, CRC checks patching, rdtsc etc... Hope your new bits from release 3 ...
